Here are two jokes I found on "The Times": 

'A man goes on holiday, gets a phone call from a friend,

who says 'your cat's died'. The man complains:

you could have let me know more gently.

You should have said my cat was stuck on the roof; 

next day told me it fell from the chimney;

a day later, perhaps, told me it was actually dead…'

Three days later the same friend calls again and says: 

 'Your mother's stuck on the roof '" 

The teacher 

There was once a teacher teaching a large class.

He was always a bit boring.

He asked his students: "Can you all hear me?"

One student answered:

"I can, but I would be happy

to change seats with anyone who can't."
